PIXresizer is a photo resizing program to easily create web and e-mail friendly versions of your images with reduced file sizes.

The reduced files are saved in a different folder, so your original images are not altered at all. Another Piece Of Great Free Software

Paint.net is a free graphics editing software programme to give your photos etc a professional touch.

It has a wide range of plugins, filters and effects found in more powerful 'paid for' software packages but in contrast to many of these packages is very straightforward and user friendly. It has 'layering' capabilites and an exciting effect for card makers is the ability it has using the 'outline' effect to take an image and empty the elements of colour so that only the outline of it remains-great for making those digital stamps!

More Free Software

Okay-it's not exactly 'Free Greeting card Software' but if you've ever been sent an email by someone and there's an attachment you don't have the software to open you'll know how irritating it is :o(
Happened to me this morning. I thought ok.....I have two options:


1. Look like a plank and have to go back and say 'sorry but I don't have that particular up to date version of the software you're using'.
2. Find a work around.


Being that I can usually manage to look like a plank under normal circumstances without the aid of any software I plumped for option two. A quick Google around (goodness I just LOVE Google!) and I came up with a neat little piece of software, totally free and very quick to install.

If you're into digital downloading for your crafting then you'll need an 'unzipper' to de-compress the files and get at your goodies. Just Zip It! is a great wee free programme, simple and straightforward but it does the job.

I tend to use Poser tubes a fair bit in the cards I design and make (though I have to say I prefer them to look realistic which some don't lol).


I've not got round to using Paint Shop yet as I'm more of a Photoshop fan.............if you're the same don't worry there is a nifty wee free programme called Tube-Ex which will extract and convert your tube from the.tub format into a more readily usable .png format. It's wicked :o)
